I might have to get a better thermocouple calibration instrument than a Bic lighter.

Re: Straif is a canadian cliche

Two, no three ways I can think of... First way, easiest and most expensive while having an industrial touch and just enough showbiz bling: Circuit Specialists 16VA520T20 Variac Variable Transformer, 20 Amp, 2000VA Max, 0-130V Output https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006NG9OTI?psc=1 It will also burn out th...

Yeah, Hamburglers came to mind when I saw this. It occurs to me that there's a distinct chance that the artist has a kid's kid on some game company art staff.

Another game using the PS2 engine but done in a more... steampunk style... might have appeal.

Re: Who's online Android app

Sorry.... every time Google updates their whining "Would you people PLEASE stop being assholes" developer policy, they shut it off. http://app.darkhq.com/ It needs attention, the census lookup is still SOE, although I could have sworn I made it so anyone could edit the config file. I also need to up...

Server cleaning... OOH LOOKY

I was doing a bit a server cleaning today, and discovered 540 files of old rejected emails that I've been collecting since mid-2011. There are over 200 uniquely designated trojans, viruses, and other malware. The "Eicar" entry is legit, that's me testing my virus detector. Anybody wanna have some fu...

Re: latest mad scientist project (nixie clock)

Hey AssemblerManiac, long time no see!! It's actually 'low iron' glass, 1/4" thick. If you look at regular glass from the edge, it looks green, this stuff is much clearer. I did a lousy job making it, it was not intended to be particularly well done, but it came out a little better than expected. St...

Re: latest mad scientist project (nixie clock)

The big advantage of working with Pi is that you can use a full linux stack (Raspbian is Debian) with a constantly updated distribution, or something else if you prefer. This clock already has the 'heartbleed' patch. If I actually ran CAT5 to this, I could use it as a wireless access point, but I ju...
