Sunderer "Deployment Shield"
Defense slot
"Generates a shield for the Sunderer when deployed that will absorb up to a certain amount of damage, but will regenerate over time. Damage done to the Sunderer or the shield will delay the shields regeneration for 10 / 9 / 8 / 6 seconds."

The shield completely absorbs:
  • • 2 tank mines
    • 2 C4
    • 2 decimator
    • 3 default dumbfire (technically 2, but the third rocket only does ~5% damage or so)
    • A lot of AV grenades - 4 minimum from what I've tested
    • 2 AV mana
    • 2 AP vanguard
    • 5 enforcer
    • 2 halberd
4 C4 or 5 tank mines will bring it down to half health.

The shield begins recharging after 10 / 9 / 8 / 6 seconds and costs 50 / 100 / 200 / 500 certs.

EDIT: It seems that the shield also resists damage while it is active. Detonating 4 C4 at once will bring it down to about half health, but setting off two of them (knocking out the shield), then setting off the other two will set it on fire: http://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comm ... ts/cjcka9g

After his edit/update, I tested the following just now to check the latest build.

Detonated 3 mines to bring the shield down and health to just over 75%.
Lay 2 more (utility pouch 4) within 6 seconds to kill it.

5 mines = 250 donuts
Sundy = 200 donuts


Detonated 2 C4 to bring the shield down and health to just over 75%.
Detonate 2 more (utility pouch 3) within 6 seconds to kill it.

4 C4 = 300 donuts
Sundy = 200 donuts


With Heavy...
4 S1 rockets and 2 C4 (150 donuts) will take it out. That takes 3 reloads and 2 melee range throws though.
5 S1 rockets (all of them, unless using munitions pouch) and 4 AV grenades (200 donuts) will take it out.
Tests with other combos or launchers were similar. It's a lot harder to take it down as heavy because of the quick shield regen, if it even partially regenerates right now it negates a lot of damage that would have been done if it was totally drained, as mentioned on reddit above.

It's going to make getting rid of entrenched ams's on hossin pretty difficult. With HEAT or HE, might as well not bother if its got one engy on it... just farm the damn thing. It's already extremely difficult and eats up massive ammo if you have heat/halberd on a Mag.

So... one of the few goals of MBTs is getting a major buff at the same time they are looking to nerf them all as well. Might as well be lobbing water balloons at them.
